What's better than a friendly family football game over the Thanksgiving Holiday? How about a day of running through the woods, armed with compressed air, thousands of paint-packed gelatin balls, and semi-automatic weapons!
This past Thanksgiving my family continued our favorite new tradition - The Poeppelman Family Turkey Shoot with another awesome day of paintball. My family is so into the sport that one of my uncles actually built a series of paintball fields on a large piece of property that he owns - complete with air filling station, chrono, staging area, etc...
I've been playing paintball for roughly the past 10 year - though I've only been able to get out a handful of times the couple of years. I had so much fun this year that I'm looking to get more active and start playing on a regular basis again - possibly even join/start a team and get into a few tourneys.
At any rate, Carli snapped a few pictures of the staging area between games - Enjoy!
That's me rockin' my new headgear before we headed out to the fields. Oh, and check out the sweet-ass red vest that I found buried in a closet at my parent's house! I didn't actually wear it out into the games - no need to make myself any more of a target.
My little brother, Andrew, with his Tippmann 68-Carbine. This was right before he realized that he lost part of his marker. Lucky for him I was using my Autococker, so he was able to steal some parts off of my Carbine and get back into the fun.
That's me helping Ben get his marker ready... I don't think he'd used it in a couple of years.
Not sure what the hell I was doing? I think I was having some issues with my remote air set-up or something.
The tall guy with his headgear up and the marker in his hand is my uncle Fred - he's the guy that owns this little paintball paradise. Thanks again for hosting and supplying the air uncle Fred!
Looks like everyone is back from a game and just reloading on ammo and air. We must have gone through 20-30,000 rounds that day!
(L to R): My brother Andrew, my sister's boyfriend Manny, and me. Andrew played with his Tippmann 68-Carbine, Manny used one of Fred's Tippmann Model-98's, and I used my 2003 Worr Autococker & my cousin Jared's 1998 Worr Autococker (pictured here).
