Subtext - Recalculate your blog's statistics...

Barry just posted a great tip for recalculating your Subtext blog's statistics if they get out of whack.

As he says in the post, under normal usage the stats should keep themselves updated and accurate... but there are situations that can cause them to get messed up. For example, we found a bug with an old database trigger that could cause the stats for your Comments and Ping/Trackbacks to get zeroed out. I'll be sure to fix the bug for the 2.0 release, but until then you might want to run Barry's script every now and then to clean things up. :)

Also, I think I'll use Barry's script as the basis for a new Advanced Admin feature in Subtext that allows you to systematically update your stats... should they get a bit whacked. Look for it in the 2.0 release.

What others are saying.

I only wrote it because I had to change the uri of the blog (it was using the temporary host uri) and I had the table already open from a couple of hours before I had added any comments, so the stats got written back as 0 / 0 / 0. For I am an idiot :)
