Eating My Own Dog Food - Subtext v1.9.4.x

Dog Food. UPDATE: I just pushed Subtext v1.9.4.75 out to this blog. It includes several bug fixes as well as a couple of new features - including a SiteMap implementation. You can see my SiteMap here. Simo is also dog fooding a recent Subtext build on his blog.

I just finished upgrading my production Subtext installation to the latest bits from the 1.9 branch - hot off the build server! That means that both this site (stevenharman.net) and my other blog (Steve's Life) are both running on the v1.9.4.72 code set.

As of right now the 1.9.4 release will include 14 bug fixes, 3 patches, a couple of feature requests... and a hand full of other changes - including some cool XFN Microformat icons.

By the way, everyone be sure to thank Jon for the new xfn-child, xfn-parent, and xfn-spouse icons.

Got some time? Lend a hand!

Please poke around my blog, submit some feedback items, click some links, etc... and let me know if you find anything odd.

Also, I think that Simo plans to dog food the latest build on his production box. So if you're feeling especially frisky, go hit his site and and help us test drive this sucker so we can push it out the door.

Look for the bits to officially drop later this week.

What others are saying.

Can I comment without having to hit the submit button twice, that's the question...

Apparently so, but a) it says "thanks for your comment", but doesn't display it again. There's no way to comment again unless you remove "#feedback" from the url. I can't wait until we add some ajax updatepanels and get rid of the kludgy anchor jumping...

Well, the second time it said thank you, but it displayed both comments - whereas the first time it didn't display the first comment until I reloaded. so def something screwy with commenting... And I just realized I said a) before without having a b)

David, can you find a way to rationalize the problem, and post a bug on SF.net, so we can address that problem in a next release?

Well, I was off the clock :p but I'll consider doing so at my earliest convenience if someone doesn't beat me to it

Awesome! Thanks for the help Dave.

I'm really looking forward to adding ASP.NET AJAX to Subtext and making use of the client-side libraries. I envision some cool new webservices that we can call for adding comments, searching, etc... Pretty exciting stuff.
