My local .NET developers group has been a loosely run non-organization since its inception. And yet, we’ve flourished.
Right now the average attendance is around 50-60 people per meeting. But we’ve we outgrown our training wheels and it’s time to step up and officially get organized.
CONDG (con-dug)
Central Ohio .NET Developers Group
This past week we officially filed the necessary paperwork to become a non-profit organization.
Chairman of the Board
Myself along with three of the other current leaders of the group were asked to serve as the CONDG Board of Directors. And I’ve unofficially appointed Ol' Blue Eyes to be Chairman. :)
I consider it a true privilege to be able to give back to the group and the community from which I’ve learned so much.
During our inaugural meeting we also elected the first CONDG officers. Though in truth it was more like a game of duck-duck-goose than an election. The results:
I don’t seem to have blog addresses for Nate & Carey, but I’ll add them if/when I find them.
My first order of business
We need to move our web site.
Since I’m in charge of technology its my job to find a new host. We are currently on a shared hosting plan but we’ve outgrown it and are looking to move to a dedicated box.
However, being a small non-profit we don’t have pockets deep enough to afford most of the dedicated server plans out there. So... I was hoping that one of my readers, that’s you, might have an idea/suggestion/hook-up that can help us get a dedicated box on the cheap.
Oh, and naturally we’re open to sponsorship too. Maybe some In-Kind sponsorship - someone donates a dedicated box and we’ll slap their logo on our site in thanks.
See you at CONDG!
Ok, enough of me shilling CONDG’s good name. If you’re in the central Ohio area, be sure to swing by some time!
